What is 4G Broadband?
Traditional Broadband gets you online using a phone line or cable. 4G Broadband gets you online by using the internet signal your mobile phone uses. It’s perfect for laptops and tablets because it gets you connected wherever you are – you don’t have to search for Wi-Fi when you’re travelling or working away from home.
It can also be used as an alternative to Home Broadband that uses a landline, saving you line rental and installation costs. It’s delivered next working day, it’s easy to set up, and you can choose the best Broadband deal for you thanks to a variety of short and long-term plans.
What types of Broadband can I get?
You can choose either Home Broadband or Mobile Broadband. Three Home Broadband uses a Wi-Fi hub you can plug in anywhere, whether it’s your living room or your home office. Our Home Broadband doesn’t require a landline or installation.
Mobile Broadband helps to keep portable devices online when you’re browsing or working on the move, so you’re not always hunting for a Wi-Fi hotspot. A mobile Wi-Fi router creates a portable hotspot you can connect multiple devices to. You can also choose a data SIM to get online if you’re using a tablet.
How do I get Broadband?
When you choose a Broadband product, you’ll need to choose one of our best Broadband deals on either a Pay Monthly or Pay As You Go plan.
If you choose Pay As You Go, you may need to pay an upfront fee for your devices.
Most devices and SIMs will be delivered within 1 – 2 working days. Tablets may take longer depending on stock availability.
Is there a Broadband set-up fee?
Our Broadband only deals come with no upfront costs if you choose a home hub, mobile router or a Pay Monthly data SIM only deal. If you choose Broadband on Pay As You Go, you’ll need to pay an upfront fee.
If you’re buying a tablet, you may be asked to pay an upfront cost depending on the device and the data plan you choose.
Do I need a phone line to get Broadband?
No. Once you have a home hub, mobile router or data SIM you’ll be able to access our 4G network without any fixed connection.
Can I get a Broadband deal without paying any line rental?
There’s no line rental when you choose Broadband from Three. You only have to pay your monthly charge, or top up if you choose a Pay As You Go Broadband plan.
Can I get Broadband on a short contract?
Most of our best Broadband deals are available on both short and long contracts, so you can find the right plan whether you need Broadband for 1 month, 6 months, a year or more. You can also choose Pay As You Go Broadband if you prefer.
If you’re buying a tablet, you’ll need to commit to a longer plan unless you choose Pay As You Go and pay for the full cost of the device up front.
Should I get Unlimited Broadband?
If you get Unlimited Broadband, you can use as much data as you need to without worrying about going over your data limit and having to pay for extra.
