Switch to Three - further details
Bring your number to Three
Bringing your number to Three is easy. First you'll need a PAC (Port Authorisation Code). A PAC is for keeping your number and bringing it to Three, so you won't lose those digits you're so fond of. We'll also let your previous provider know to close your account, but it's their responsibility to close it once we've notified them.
-
How to get a PAC
-
There’s a few different ways to get a PAC. You’ll need to go to your previous provider, or text ‘PAC’ to 65075. Check your provider’s guidance, as some may want you to share your date of birth (DDMMYY) too.
A PAC only lasts 30 days, so after it expires, you'll have to request another one. We can't check when your PAC was generated, but your previous provider can, so get in touch with them if you need to jog your memory.
The process might be different across different providers if you're using any online processes, so we've got some handy links below for you to check out different core providers.
-
How to redeem a PAC
-
Once you've got your PAC, all you need to do is fill out our Bring my number to Three Form or log into My3, and let us know all the useful information. This includes your existing Three number on your Three SIM, the number you're referring to with your previous provider and your PAC. Then, we'll take care of everything.
-
What happens once you've brought your number to us
-
Once you've given us your PAC, you can continue using your phone as normal, although you might notice a small lapse in service during the transition period if you're bringing your number with you. Your previous provider will cancel your service within 24 hours, so if you're not bringing your number with you, that's when that number will stop working.
When you bring your number over, all your new bills generated afterwards will show this number, but your previous bills will show your original Three number. Otherwise, your bills won't change and will continue displaying your Three number. Your login for My3 will automatically update with your new number, so you can use that to log in. If you haven't registered, you'll need to use your Three number (or the number you've brought with you) to access all of it's useful resources.
-
When we'll switch your number
-
If you want to switch your number, we'll aim to handle this on the next working day unless you let us know otherwise.
We’ll process your request on the next working day, provided we get it by 5pm. If you request after 5pm, or on a weekend or bank holiday, it’ll take two working days to process the request.
You can also delay your number switch if you need to. You can let us know a preferred date, within 30 days of your PAC expiring. Bank holidays will act as weekends do, so our system will use the next available day instead.

Are you a business customer?
-
To bring your number to Three, please follow the instructions you received with your Business SIM to activate your account. Your account must be fully activated before you can transfer your number, so we recommend that you leave 24 hours after doing this before you complete the Bring your number to Three form. If you’re having trouble activating your SIM, give us a call on 0800 033 8033.
Leave your number with your old provider
If you want to leave your number behind, you'll need a STAC (Service Termination Authorisation Code). A STAC is for leaving your number with your previous provider and ending your contract with them. We'll also let your old provider know to close your account, but it's their responsibility to close it once we've notified them.
